Yay or Nay?

Is leadership a yes or no?

I believe that leadership cannot be classified as a yes or no category.  A good leader should know when to say both yes and no.  As a leader, I like to think that I can say yes to everyone, but that is not always the case.  As much as we all would like too, it just is not possible to say yes to everyone’s requests or ideas.  If we did that, the world would be chaos.  I believe that the word no is a powerful one and should be used wisely and sparingly.  A good leader should be able to take an idea that should be said no to and transform it into an idea that can be said yes to. Using the work no too often and too harshly can effect followers in many different ways.  It can easily destroy their confidence and make them shut down.
